It is no secret that non for profit organizations rely heavily on donations from consumers within the communities that they help. With that said, if you have a car that no longer runs or you simply want to get rid of, you may be asking yourself, “How do I donate a car that doesn’t run to charity?”. Honestly, no matter if the car is running or not, donating your car is the same process. Here at Cars Helping Charities, we have made this process more simple than ever with our simple donations form. However, if you are not quite sure as to which charity to donate your car to, you may want to follow a few more steps than simply filling out the form. Here are the steps that you should follow when donating a car to charity:
Step 1: Choose Your Cause: Before donating a car, I’m sure that you want to know who your car is going to help. With that considered, on our home page, we have broken charities down into 8 simple categories. Your first step would be choosing one of these categories to help! For instance, if you would really like to help soldiers who have fought for our country, you would choose, “Support Veterans”, if you would like the money from your car to be used to help animals, you would want to choose “Rescue Animals”.
Step 2: Choose Your Charity: Once you choose a cause that you would like to help with your car donation, it’s time to choose a charity. To do so, simply click on the icon that represents that cause that you would like to donate a car to on the home page. Once you click this icon, you will be taken to a page that spotlights our featured charity in that cause. This spotlight page will give you the name of the featured charity and a short description of what they do to help the community. If you would like to donate your car to another charity that helps that cause, simply click the link to view more charities within that cause below the description of the spotlight charity. This link will bring you to a list of charities that help with the cause that you would like to donate a car to! Along with the names of these charities, you will find a description of each. Simply choose what you feel is the best charity to help the cause that you are interested in.
Step 3: Fill Out The Form: Once you have chosen a charity to donate a car to, all you will need to do is fill out the form that you find on the right side of each page in this website. We have designed this form to walk consumers through the process of donating a car. This very simple process takes about 2 minutes. However, if you are one of those people that would rather talk to a live representative, feel free to call us 24 hours a day at the number on the top, right hand corner of this site. Once you’ve made the call or filled the form, you are done donating your car.
After these 3 steps, the rest is on us! It is our responsibility to send a tow truck to pick up your car donation, process your car donation, sell your car donation and give the money to the charity that you have chosen. Once this process is done, we will send your tax deduction receipt and you will be free to enjoy the great tax perks and instant gratification of knowing that you made the decision to donate a car to charity!
