This small pond is where she has been getting her water for years. The unfortunate reality of this situation is that Akanit and her family have all suffered life threatening illnesses as a result of drinking the foul water found in the retention pond. Now, meet Andrew. Andrew is 6 years old today and one of the most happy young boys you will ever come across. However, when we look at Andrew today, it is hard to believe that from ages 2 to 5 his life was threatened by cancer. As a matter of fact, Andrew wasn’t supposed to make it to be able to read this article today. However due to efforts by Optimist International another charity funded in part by car donations accepted here, Andrew now has a new lease on life. To the surprise of Andrew’s family and doctors alike, Andrew’s cancer went into remission last year! Playing catch with his son, Andrews father is constantly thinking about Optimist International and the difference that they have made in his life! Finally, meet Gregg. 4 years ago, Gregg was found in horrible condition after a car accident. He spent the next year in a coma. Unfortunately, when Gregg woke up, he woke up to no family, no job and no money to survive. This is the reason that Gregg became homeless. However, due to the efforts of Rock and Wrap It Up, Gregg has eaten his third warm meal today. This small silver lining on the otherwise dark cloud of Gregg’s situation has given him the strength that he needed to carry on! You can help other people like Gregg by donating your car here today!
