Using sports as the vehicle for change, Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) improves the health and quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) by building self-esteem, reducing bullying, promoting self-sufficiency, and creating “unified” opportunities that create positive and long lasting attitudinal and behavioral change among typically developing youth. More specifically, SOCO offers 22 Olympic-type sports year-round and 100 competitions completely free of charge to both youths and adults, in addition to leadership development. The Unified Sports programs, designed for developmentally different athletes and their typically developing peers, are making unprecedented strides in creating stronger communities and more inclusive school climates for athletes beginning at 2.5 years old and continuing throughout their adulthood.
Donating your unwanted, but usable vehicle to Special Olympics Colorado is convenient, easy and may qualify you for a tax deduction. And best of all, your donation of a used vehicle will make a big difference in supporting Special Olympics Colorado and our 14,200 athletes with intellectual disabilities.
