HopeWest (Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado)

HopeWest (Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado), founded in 1993, is dedicated to profoundly changing the way our community experiences serious illness and grief—one family at a time.

This organization was created through a community-wide vision. Its founders recognized the need for comprehensive, expert and collaborative care for those facing serious illness and the need for effective grief support for their loved ones.

Today, HopeWest serves more than 7,000 square miles with 4 offices and a state-of-the-art Hospice Care Center. With a staff of 300 and more than 1,400 volunteers, HopeWest provides care to over 2,500 patients and well-over 1,500 individuals coping with grief every year in Mesa, Delta, Montrose and Ouray Counties.

HopeWest is so much more than a hospice or health care organization. It is a hospice and palliative care organization, counseling program and social program providing support to people in their homes, hospitals, and assisted living residences—regardless of age or illness—because of its unique partnerships throughout the health care continuum.

This organization provides extensive bereavement services for people of all ages. Adults receive individual counseling, grief education and group support. The HopeWest Kids program is the only one if its kind in Western Colorado providing an extensive array of creative grief services, such as: Itty Bitty Day Camp for preschoolers, Camp Good Grief for older children, Teen Retreats for teens, equestrian therapy, and grief support groups in all schools across the region.

When you donate a car to HopeWest you are ensuring the ongoing care of families in our community. To learn more about HopeWest visit their website at www.HopeWestCO.org.
